Why not join us on a trip to the famous Needles in the autumn and winter to experience the great cod and conger fishing that is to be had, alternatively from the early spring, the mid- Channel wrecks offer great opportunities for cod, pollack, ling and conger fishing
Another option is to drift the inshore banks for turbot, brill, bass and plaice, or for hard running tope or rays, found around the Needles, and surrounding banks.
If bream or bass is your quarry, then a trip to the Christchurch Ledge and the surrounding reefs in the Spring / Summer would be your choice, using light spinning rods to enjoy the fantastic sport that these species give.
From Late April you can join our various multiple day charters to the Channel Isles in search of the turbot, brill and tope fishing that is to be had around the islands, with accommodation in either Alderney or Guernsey. We also run 2 day trips to Cherbourg fishing the French Wrecks and banks off the French coast.
For the shark fishing enthusiast we provide a totally inclusive package, which includes rod reels tackle and bait and tuition if required.
I have been fishing from charter boats for 35+ years, and have learned that there can be no guarantee that you will catch fish, all you can do is give yourself the best chance you can by stacking as much as you can in your favour. This starts with the boat, the crew and if you need it the hire tackle. Katfish Charters with their boat Manta Ray, scores very highly on all counts.
The boat is well appointed, spacious, comfortable and very fast when sea conditions allow meaning less time travelling and more time fishing. The skipper, Tom, and crew, his dad, are both very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and try their best to find fish for you. Their hire tackle is very good, a lot better than some I’ve seen, and they will spend time showing you how to use it.
If you’re new to charter boat fishing, or like me, have been doing it for years you won’t regret booking Manta Ray with Katfish Charters.

Best charter boat ever! Knows his wrecks and spots. Boats big enough to not do the shoulder to shoulder tangle dance and a joy to be on.
